Mais qu’est ce que le Carnaval de Notting Hill ?<\/p>\n

Le Carnaval de Notting Hill est un carnaval qui se d\u00e9roule le dernier week-end d’ao\u00fbt, le dimanche et le lundi (f\u00e9ri\u00e9 au Royaume-Uni), dans le quartier de Notting Hill \u00e0 Londres.<\/p>\n

\"Red<\/a><\/p>\n

Ce carnaval fut initi\u00e9 par les immigr\u00e9s noirs issus des Cara\u00efbes, en particulier de Trinidad, qui repr\u00e9sentent une forte proportion de la population du quartier. La premi\u00e8re \u00e9dition eut lieu en 1964.<\/p>\n

\"Dancing\"<\/a><\/p>\n

Le genre musical traditionnel du carnaval est la soca (un m\u00e9lange de soul et de calypso originaire de Trinidad) mais les musiques originaires de jama\u00efque comme le reggae et le ragga y sont \u00e9galement tr\u00e8s fortement repr\u00e9sent\u00e9es. On observe \u00e9galement la pr\u00e9sence plus minoritaire de musiques dansantes comme la house ou la drum and bass ou encore le funk et le hip-hop.<\/p>\n

En 2005, le carnaval comptait plus d’une centaine de sound systems (statiques ou mobiles) et sa fr\u00e9quentation fut \u00e9valu\u00e9e \u00e0 environ 2 millions de personnes.<\/p>\n
